Tracking & Attribution

Tracking & Attribution Policy

How PassiveVelocity tracks clicks, leads, and conversions, how referral attribution works, and how to dispute an attribution.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

1.How tracking works

PassiveVelocity generates a unique, tracked referral link for each Affiliate and offer. When someone follows that link, the platform records the click and, if the visitor completes a qualifying action defined by the Vendor, the resulting lead or conversion is attributed to that Affiliate.

  • Clicks — recorded when a tracked referral link is followed.
  • Leads — recorded when a visitor completes a Vendor-defined lead action.
  • Conversions — recorded when a visitor completes a Vendor-defined qualifying event.
  • Commission records — derived from attributed conversions per the Vendor's commission settings.

2.Cookies and signals

Attribution relies on signals such as cookies, link parameters, IP address, and device or browser information. If a visitor blocks cookies, uses multiple devices, or takes a long time to convert, attribution may be incomplete. Approximate location and device signals are also used to detect fraud and enforce offer eligibility. See our Privacy Policy.

3.Attribution rules

Attribution windows, qualifying events, and any de-duplication or last-click rules are determined by the offer's configuration. Because Vendors control their offers, a Vendor may set specific qualifying and approval criteria. PassiveVelocity records activity according to those rules and reports it to both the Affiliate and the Vendor.

4.Commissions follow attribution

PassiveVelocity records and reports attributed activity, but the Vendor funds and pays commissions and makes the final approval decision on qualifying conversions. Questions about payout amounts or timing are between the Affiliate and the Vendor — see the Affiliate Terms.

5.Fraud and invalid activity

Artificially generated clicks, leads, or conversions, and any attempt to manipulate tracking, are prohibited under the Acceptable Use Policy. Invalid activity may be filtered, and associated attribution and commissions may be voided.

6.Disputing an attribution

If you believe a click, lead, conversion, or commission was attributed incorrectly, open a tracking dispute. Include the offer, referral link, dates, and any reference details so we can investigate. Attribution-mechanics disputes are handled by PassiveVelocity; Vendor payout decisions remain with the Vendor.
